Brum - Airport And Other Stories (DVD) ... at 2 Entertain Video / Features of the DVD: Anamorphic, PAL, Widescreen / Quietly tucked away in a car-collection garage, Brum is only conspicuous by his size. When the owner turns his back at the start of the day however, Brum blazes into action; ready to fight crime and do good deeds in the "big town". TV has tried lots of ideas with cars that think for themselves, but never managed to convey the charm that this series offers. Whether it's thwarting the escape of some naughty bank robbers, or saving a newlywed bride who inadvertently steps on a runaway skateboard, the little car with the big heart is always the perfect gentleman. Each episode sets up a crime to solve or dilemma to resolve, and by way of handy ramps and elevators, Brum is cheerily applauded and waved at by the town's residents. Every so often there's an outburst of song that will unite good guys and bad guys alike, and then there's always the sing-along at the end to look forward to. Warning to parents: expect a look of abject disappointment on the face of the tot who discovers their toy cars won't do any of the tricks on TV. --Paul Tonks

... great for children of around three to six years I think, maybe a bit older for real car fans. Brum is a little talking car that's the size of a standard children's toy car. He stars alongside real life actors. I think part of what makes this program so great is that it appears realistic to little viewers thanks to the absence of animation. As far as your average four year old is concerned, little Brum really is walking along and talking out loud all by himself. The Brum at the Airport episode sees Brum hot on the ...more

The grandson is crazy about cars, so it was no surprise when he spotted this at a car boot sale with his Mum not so long ago and wanted it! He asked nicely and it only cost two pounds second hand so the daughter was happy with this. I've looked it up on Amazon for a price, and it's a shocking £16.97 on there! No way is any 52 minute children's DVD worth that price! Look around and you'll find it cheaper elsewhere. Play.com has it for £11.99 and ebay sellers are selling it new for under ten pounds which is much more appropriate. The DVD is an entertaining one that's great for children of around three to six years I think, maybe a bit older for real car ...  Read the complete review

My 2 year old son and his sister absolutely loves this programme. From start to finish, they are glued to the TV. This little car does everything he can to help others who has got into trouble. There are no words to this programme,it is just music in the background all the way through, with the little help of Brums horn beeping from time to time. When I first seen this little yellow car,I thought it would not last atall, but it has made a great impact and the children seem to love watching it. So now I decided to buy the DVD of Brum for my children, and they sit and watch the whole lot without a squeek, and I am able to get on with my daily chores. The ...  Read the complete review

You would think nothing of Brum a half scale replica of 1920's Austin 7. Tucked away in a car collection museum. Brum comes to life as the door is opened every morning. Brum's engines start and slowly it sneaks out, over a bridge and into the big town, Birmingham, mind you the name is not mentioned anymore. Brum is a crime fighter for children. In every show it catches a criminal up to no good. Brum has aired on TV for at least 20 years. In this particular DVD Brum goes to the airport where it has to tackle thieves even on planes. Everybody is glad that Brum is there because it saves the day. There are no talking characters in the Brum ...  Read the complete review
