Canadian Bacon is the only fictional film made by John Moore. He wrote the screenplay, directed the film and makes cameo appearance. The plot is typical of the way Michael Moore thinks. President of USA wants to stop the slide in public opinion ratings. In order to do this he is advised to distract the public by starting a cold war against Canada. Canadian Bacon has to be one of Michael Moore's best films as a director. Not only did he put together a superb cast of star talent, he wrote a very witty, hilarious story to go with it. This movie is so funny you'll laugh until your belly aches. And then you'll laugh some more. The storyline goes something like this: Two American park rangers at Niagara Falls stumble upon a plot by the President to engage in a war against Canada to raise his popularity numbers and spur employment during a time of economic recession at the end of the Cold War.
