A review of the Shriek Films DVD. Cannibal films were a popular horror sub-genre in the early 80s. They were Italian, usually set (and filmed) in the Amazon, and contained plenty of gut munching, sexual violence and real-life animal killing. Not, perhaps, the classiest films ever made. But even though the likes of Cannibal Ferox can't have been expensive to begin with, they still inspired lower-budget rip-offs. Cannibal Terror, from 1981, is one such film. It was banned as a video nasty, of course, but is now available in all its glory. And 'glory' is really not the word. Two petty thieves and a woman kidnap the young daughter of a wealthy ...
