CARRY ON BACKGROUND ********************************* I have already included much of this background in another review but it is in this one for those that have not read the other review. Hm that's as clear as mud but I guess you get what I mean. The Carry On Films started in 1958 with Carry On Sergeant, which was made in Black and White and set in the post war years, when conscription was still around. From then, until 1978, twenty nine Carry On films were made in total. They were all comedies, made on a shoestring budget, and were produced by Peter Rogers and directed by Gerald Thomas. There were several mainstays of the Carry On cast and ... Read the complete review

of my favourite films. I am not usually a fan of 'old' films , so it is quite strange that I like this film. I could watch it over and over again without getting tired of it. Carry On Camping is a British comedy film, released in the United Kingdom on May 29th 1969. It was directed by Gerald Thomas and stars Barbara Windsor (Peggy in Eastenders) and Sid James as well as a few other well known actors. Running time of the movie is 88 minutes. The film is a PG. Carry On Camping begins with Sid and Bernie taking their girlfriends Joan and Anthea to the cinema to watch a film about camping. Because the film contains a lot of nudity , the men think it would be ... Read the complete review

or: "Let Sleeping Bags Lie". Just when everything was going so well, I go and watch "Carry On Again Doctor" and "Carry On Camping" in the wrong order - oh the misery! "Carry On Camping" is the *seventeenth* Carry On misadventure in the long-running series directed by Gerald Thomas and produced by Peter Rogers, and it's here where everything starts to get a bit rude. "I met this chap who'd just come back from Scotland and his wife was ravished by a wild haggis, and now they're expecting a little faggot!" Trying to get their new girlfriends 'in the mood', Sid Boggle (Sid James) ... Read the complete review

Filmed in 1969, Carry On Camping is probably the best known of all this series of sniggery seaside postcard humour British films, if only for the scene where Babs Windsor bursts out of her bikini top during an early morning PT session As a Carry On addict and bit of a purist, this is not among my favourites, but it is better by a long chalk, than some of the later ones; most notably the execrable Carry On Emmanuelle which should never have been allowed to be filmed, never mind to see the light of day on our screens. Written by Talbot Rothwell, the gags are less subtle in Camping than in the earlier movies, but not quite as overtly and disappointingly tacky as ... Read the complete review

This review is for the DVD release of "Carry on Camping". The film is one of the famous Carry On series of films released from the 1950s to the 1970s, and this one was released in 1969. The film is one of the best known in the series, primarily for one of the scenes featuring Barbara Windsor and her exercising! The film is based around a campsite, and the story is based around the various mixture of family and friends who visited that site. These include Sid and Bernie (played by Sid James and Bernard Bresslaw respectively) who take their girlfriends to the camp site, although they were under the incorrect impression that it was ...
