Carry on Matron is a 1972 film from the British comedy series starring Sid James, Kenneth Williams and Hatti Jacques. It is based around a materinity hospital, and a group of thieves who plan to break in and steal the hospital's supply of contraceptive pills. This is widely regarded as one of the better films in the Carry On series, and rightly so. There's something about the setting of birthing women that makes it such a fruitful topic for risque humour, and they cash in on all of it. 1972 was a very productive year for the Carry On team as they also made Carry on Abroad in that year, Carry on Matron marked a return to the productive environment of the medical world for the Carry On film makers and all the usual cast made an appearence. The fourth to focus on teh medical world this particular film was situated in a Maternity Hospital called rather appropriately Finisham.
