Advantages: Great action film, good chase scenes, less innuendo

Disadvantages: None

Casino Royale is by far the best James Bond film, and Daniel Craig makes the best James Bond, despite a lot of scepticism before the film was released. Casino Royale is a lot more of an action film than previous offerings, without the innuendos and sexism that even the more recent films have had. It shows the start of 007's career when he made his first kill, followed by his first case where he has to beat a professional gambler at poker to prevent him earning enough money to finance terrorism. There are some fairly gritty scenes, including the opening scene inwhich Bond makes his first kill and the torturing of Bond near the end of the film. There are a few humourous moments in this latter scene to lighten the tension, but it is still gripping. A chase scene near the start of the film in which Daniel Craig does many of his own stunts up on a crane is vey impressive. Eva Green makes a beautiful Bond girl, and has a hidden agenda, leading to an interesting twist in the plot, and leaving the film open for a sequel. Worth watching even if you aren't a fan of previous Bond films as it is very very different.

Summary: Great stunts, well acted, and an incredibly enjoyable film

I enjoyed the new gritty Bond, shame about the followup to this film....
