Someone breaks into a genetics laboratory and the police are called, but when they arrive, nothing appears to be stolen. A newsreporter, called Carlo Giordani is intrigued by the case; even more so when he discovers that a geneticist from the laboratory was killed by a train. An ex-reporter, now blind, called Franco Arno is also interested in the case - he heard the dead man talking suspiciously to someone else the day before he died. He eventually proves that the dead man was murdered and in the process another man dies.
