Advantages: JOLIE'S PERFORMANCE

Disadvantages: WEAK SUPPORT CAST

Changeling is a compelling and gripping film. After his success at directing Million Dollar Baby Clint Eastwood directs this movie set in L.A about a mother who sets out to find her lost son. However when the police return her son she is adamant the child is not her own and sets to prove this amongst the midst of people thinking she's crazy.
Angelina Jolie as the leading lady deserves an Oscar for her performance. She revels in a different role to which we are used to seeing her as distressed mother craving justice.
The setting and period are captured wonderfully by Eastwood. The film is shot as though we are the period, capturing the hussle, bustle of L.A.
I found the support cast weak compared to Jolie. I didn't feel any of the supporting actors conveyed the same emotions although you wanted the corrupt government to get their comeupoance.
I found the running time of the movie too long. Although the film is captivating it could have done with maybe twenty minutes of the film cut.
The DVD extras are good with a director's commentary and interviews with the leading people in the movie including Eastwood and Jolie.
Changeling is a film with a great story worth paying for Jolie's performnce alone.
