I love animals; I carried out my year 10 work experience in a veterinary surgery, but decided it wasn't for me when the staff tried to comfort me after a puppy died...I cried for over an hour. This film is based on the classic children’s book by E.B.White. I cannot say how closely this adaptation is to the original book, as, though it is stated as a classic, it seems to have completely passed me by during my life so far. I had absolutely no recollection of the story at all so I approached this film with completely fresh eyes and no preconceived ideas as to the story. The introduction to the story shows how a pig is saved from early slaughter just after it was born. As the runt of the litter, the farmer was going to kill it until his daughter, Fern, wakes up in time to say she will look after it instead. The whole film from then on is structured ...

Charlotte’s Web Charlotte’s Web was firstly a book written by E. B. White and this is one book I can remember reading and re-reading over and over again when I was younger. I enjoyed it so much as the characters were brought to life by the author and I was ecstatic when the cartoon film came out for me to enjoy as well. Now many years later they have made it in to a motion picture and it has been recently released out on to DVD this week. Seeing as the weather has been so bad I sent out my boyfriend to pick this DVD up while he spent the day at a friends so I could watch it uninterrupted on my own. Watching ...
