note: also appears in part on Flixster and The Student Room Cheaper by the Dozen might sound like a remake of a film you've seen before, and while it has been given a similar treatment many times over, the title is only taken from the 1948 biography of Frank Bunker Gilbreth and Lillian Moller Gilbreth, who were, in fact, a couple upon which the film's protagonist is loosely based. This is a manic film that adheres to the mantra that if you fire enough craziness at the audience, a good amount of it will stick, and to an extent, that does hold true here. Tom Baker (Steve Martin) is the patriarch of a large family, including his wife Kate (Bonnie ... Read the complete review

Cheaper by the dozen is a fantatsic comedy film and is the start of a great series. I really found this to be absolutely hilarious throughout and it really does give a lot of entertainment. I would really recommend this for any comedy fans who are looking for some home entertainment. I really liked the story line and the way in which it is structured. It features Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt along with many other great actors who really do make this film what it is. I was really fond of this movie and I couldn't wait for the next one! There is also an excellent soundtrack to the movie which fitted in well with the movie itself. The movie is about a a large ... Read the complete review

Tom and Kate Baker (Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt) have been married 23 years. They live in the country and their life is dominated by their 12 children. Yes people, 12 kiddies. Thus the title, the maker of Bakers. Geddit?! OK ... moving swiftly on ...! Only 11 of their sprogs live at home. Nora, the eldest (Piper Perabo from 'Coyote Ugly' and 'Slap Her, She’s French') has hooked up with Hank (Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore’s toyboy, he of 'Just Married' fame). They live together because Tom and Kate don’t like Hank ‘sleeping over’ in their house. Tom is offered a job as the coach to a football team, The Stallions. For him this is a dream come true – ... I saw this film at the cinema when it was released earlier this year, and I forgot to review it at the time, but as it has just been gone on general release, I suppose it is still a topical review of sorts. Normally, this would not be the kind of film we would go to see, but it was our daughter’s momentous first outing to the cinema, and this was the film she chose to see. It is actually a remake of a film which was made in the 50’s. The film is about a family of 12 children and their parents Tom & Kate Baker (Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt) who have recently made the move to a new city, much to the excitement of the younger members of the clan, whilst ...
