... being. The lucky owner of the doll is Andy Barclay who soon realises his doll is a whole lot more than meets the eye when the bodies start mounting up. Chucky is after Andys body but Andy wins this battle and Chucky gets frazzled. Obviously Andy escapes Chuckys clutches and is sent to a Foster home which is where this movie begins. The toy makers have decided to remake the good guy doll to convince the public that the horror stories surrounding the doll are unfounded but in doing so they bring Chuckys soul back to life a...more

Crowned Review Child's Play 2 (DVD): Good Guys finish slashed (1256 words)
by - written on 06/02/02 (Very useful, 681 readings)
Rating:

When Chucky's head is recovered after the first film, when the technicians from the firm who make the toy find it in Andy's (Alex Vincent) house. They then decide, for some reason best known to them, to re-insert it on a new body and low and below it isn't that long until Chucky (voice of Brad Dourif) is back and his stalk and slash best (or average here). We later find out they had to build the doll back up as the president of he company wants to prove it wasnt a malfunction in the doll that made it kill, nice idea. Chucky is back and sets off to find Andy so he can transfer his soul into Andy's body and carry on his murder spree as a real person. But as ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review "I'm a Good Guy" (573 words)
by - written on 12/08/08 (Very useful, 31 readings)
Rating:

In the first movie, a "Good Guy" doll by the name of Chucky (Voiced by Brad Dourif), possessed by killer, Charles Lee Ray, found it's way to young owner,Andy, and soon set out on a murderous spree, while trying to transfer is own soul out of the doll and into Andy. The dolls plot was foiled and he was destroyed. In the sequel "Child's Play 2", Andy is in care, and has convinced himself that the whole incident was just a figment of his imagination, and that it couldn't possibly have really happened. And his mother is also undergoing physchiatric help, due to her making the same claims of a killer doll. Andy is taken in by foster ...  Read the complete review

*I'll Be Your Friend To The End* (110 words)

Rating:

The entire Childs Play series have got to be the best Horror-Comedy films ever made. Chucky, a possessed doll has all the style that gives these films their own unique class. They are a must-see collection, and the latest installment, 'Bride of Chucky' continues the amazingly well-written story-line. I saw Childs Play when I was only 8ish back in 1988, and from then on, I have been a Childs Play fanatic! When you see the films, you will always believe Chucky's promise 'I'll Be Your Friend To The End', because you will never forget the most evil look in his eves for as long as you live! ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Child's Play 2 (DVD): Run-of-the-doll's-house (137 words)
by - written on 13/07/00 (Somewhat useful, 52 readings)
Rating:

A run-of-the-doll’s-house sequel to T.Holland’s superior horror hit, this mediocre effort turns Chucky into just another boring stalk and slash menace. After Chucky is restored by the ‘Good Guy’ doll manufacturers, the story quickly slides into predictability. Chucky murders a toy executive, then hijacks a car (really!) and forces the driver to drop him off at the home of Andy Barclay. Thereafter the film adopts the ‘little boy who cried wolf’ scenario from the first movie, using it as wearisome framework for a number of poorly-staged death sequences and just as many stupid plot contrivances. But be warned that Child’s Play 2 ...  Read the complete review
