***ABOUT THE FILM*** This film stars Skeet Ulrich and Cuba, Gooding Jr who are forced to protect a chemical weapon for getting into the hands of terrorists. This film is an action/thriller film and is directed by Hugh Johnson. An Ice Cream Truck Driver (Cuba Gooding Jr) and a convenience store assistant (Skeet Ulrich) are forced to team up when they are left in charge of a deadly chemical weapon by a professor. A former U.S Army officer who has just been released after being unjustly imprisoned wants to get his hands on the deadly chemical. The team of former U.S Army soldiers are planning on using the chemical against the government. The ... Read the complete review

There is not a lot to recommend when it comes to this rather poor action thriller of a film. I quite like Cuba Gooding in films as his characters are often quite funny however there was no real trace of humour in this film other than in the name of his co star who was called Skeet Ulrich which is a strange christian name to give your child. Gooding plays a character called Arlo who works as an ice cream seller, a business he runs from his own van while Skeet is a shop assistant called Tim, the pair find themselves ipossession of a deadly chemical weapon that must be kept chilled in order for it not to go off, it is a bit like the movie Speed but here it is ... The average movie goer will require the aid of either a controlled substance or a smart blow to the head to bear the plot of this convoluted and extravagantly contrived directorial debut by Hugh Johnson. Although the likable and attractive duo of Cuba Gooding Jr. and Skeet Ulrich brings an engaging chemistry to the screen, their appeal can't quite carry the clunky script and ludicrous premise. The trouble begins when megalomaniacal military scientist Dr. Long (David Paymer) botches a test run of the fledgling weapon and accidentally annihilates all the servicemen working on the project. Their by-the-book chump of a major (Peter Firth) is blamed for the ... Read the complete review

Well before the release of Chill Factor, I had often named one person as the worst actor of the nineties. In my mind, you cannot get much worse than Skeet Ulrich. Many films have been troubled with his presence, and often he is the sole downfall of a film (I was a big fan of Scream, but my biggest problem and, in my opinion, the main debit of the film was Ulrich's inclusion in the cast. Skeet Ulrich has never shown any acting prowess and has fallen on his face everytime he has tried (of course the only time Ulrich's presence in a film was a plus was his picture being a mockery in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut). Whether the film be As Good As It Gets, Touch, ... Read the complete review

For me this turned out to be a rather average action thriller and to be honest I did not expect a great deal when I saw that the two lead characters were Cuba Gooding and someone called Skeet Ulrich who I had never heard of and find it quite hard to take seriously with a first name like that. Skeet plays Tim Mason who is a shop assistant while Gooding plays an ice cream van driver called Arlo, both are in dead end jobs yet find themselves in possession of a deadly chemical weapon given to them by a scientist and they are being hunted down by a group of mercenaries led by a disgraced former Colonel Andrew Brynner played by Peter Firth, to keep the weapon intact ...
