I really do cry with laughter throughout the whole film, and it hurts. Chevy Chase is so stupid, but he makes the film what it is. This type of film is never going to win an oscar, or anything of similar statue, and it is over 10 years old, but it not old fashioned in any way and it's still shown and TV some Xmas. So this Xmas keep your eyes peeled and watch out for any of the National Lampoon films, particularly Vacation, European Vacation and Christmas Vacation. I would advise that you miss the latest installment called Vega Vacation (1997ish). It stars Chevy Chase but soon of the jokes are worn thin. Avoid this one.

Scenes to look out for in Christmas Vacation:-
-The loft scene, when Chase gets trapped up in the loft, and starts watching some old cine film. Prepare yourself for the loft hatch opening when the rest of the family return from shopping.
-The house covered in lights, laugh as Chase attempts to have the brightest house in the neighbourhood. What an expensive electricity bill.
-When his brother Randy, and his family turn up out of the blue on Xmas Eve, because they're living in a camper van and have nowhere else to go, and Randy starts emptying the chemical toilet in the middle of the snowy street.
