Whilst there are many DVDs available of pop and rock concerts, classical films are in a small minority. Even rarer is to find a DVD of a complete performance of a work; in this case Handel's oratorio, The Messiah. In many ways, whilst this DVD is readily available to purchase, it is rare on several fronts. Firstly, it is a complete concert performance - it is not a 'highlights' edition and it is not a recording with disassociated pictures alongside.
