Advantages: Good soundtrack, stunning performance by Cage

Disadvantages: The ending dropped me from my emotional rollercoaster like a ton of bricks

Strong all the way until they ruined it for me at the end.

Why on earth did they have to finish on such a wimpy ending, when they could have carried the film through to the end with the astonishingly strong emotions they had built up in the viewer?

Still, the film was good, and being a fan of both Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage, I was looking forward to seeing them together.

Cage played Seth with his usual depth of feeling, showing reactions to love that can only come from a truly gifted actor.

Ryan played a stronger character than her usual roles, and gave a convincing performance as an overworked underloved doctor.

I have not seen the original film that this was a remake of, and I would have chosen it as a classic had the ending not completely taken my breathe away by the surprise of the let down.
