A film about gangsters in the brazilian slums always promises to be good and this does not disappoint. The actors, although not widely known to many of us are all of high quality and deliver excellent performances. The plot is intriguing and you genuinely care what happens to each character, something which I find difficult to do with the majority of films and the twists to the storyline are unpredictable and keep your attention completely on the film.

One small problem is that the language of the film is Portuguese and although there are English subtitles available, it is quite a long film and I found reading the subtitles for such a long period of time quite difficult to do.

However this should not detract from what is a fantastic film and had it been made by a more high profile production company I'm certain it would have had the recognition it undoubtedly deserves.

Summary: Hugely entertaining
