***Cliffhanger (1993)*** This is one of those films that if you don't have high expectations, can pleasantly surprise you. I always enjoy action adventure films of this type if executed well and perhaps I was biased knowing that Sylvester Stallone was a lead actor, but I didn't expect much from it. I think that it is one of the best movies I have seen him in and was so pleased that I gave it a go. It was on ITV recently, so I am reviewing the film only version. ***What's it all about?*** The first 10 minutes of the film gets off to a thrilling start. It surprises the audience and excels at creating tension and suspense, so that you ... Read the complete review

I don't know why people say that, don't look down. It just makes you think about it then look. Anyway..... I knew this was going to have a little more meaning than his usual gun-fight movies when he has that little accident on the mountain right at the start (don't want to reveal too much). With that unexpected turn of events, Cliffhanger just carries on. Stallone plays the part of Gabe Walker, a mountaineer who serves with the mountain rescue team in the Colorado Rockies. Trying to suppress the guilt of the little accident by leaving his job, he is suddenly thrown back in to the profession and now troubled by the activities of a group of ... Read the complete review

Made in 1993 and starring Sylvester Stallone, this is the film that made headlines when Stallone himself paid somewhere in the region of $150,000 so the crew could re-shoot a scene where a rabbit gets gruesomely shot, as preview audiences found the scene so out of taste and different to the rest of the film, it was feared this would hamper the films success. Whether this is right or not, we will never know, but the films sure went on to be a huge success, and it was only a matter of time before it was given a suitable DVD release. Directed by Renny Harlan (Who is he I hear you ask! Also director of Die Hard2m Elm Street 4 and 5, and more recently the long kiss ... Read the complete review

If you are a one armed rockclimber hanging from a cliff? Well that is not answered in this film. What is answered is can Slyvester Stallone play a part with more to it than the odd grunt and groan and carrying a big machine gun. The answer is yes, he can. The Film starts off in a very dramatic way with a terrible accident occuring during a climb somewhere in the Colorado Mountains. Stallone plays the part of a Mountain Rescue worker who leaves the profession after the accident as wel las his girlfriend, friends and lifestyle he loved. Al lof this is turned upsidedown when he returns after being away for some time. The accident that caused him to ... Read the complete review
