Eighties Arnie at his best (Commando (DVD))

Advantages: It's Arnie dammit!

Disadvantages: Silly if you don't appreciate the genre

If you are not a fan of the Governator then stop reading. You will think this film is awful.

If however, you are an Arnie fan, quite simply this movie is a classic. It is so bad it is good. In fact it is great.

The plot, if it has one, involve's the kidnap of Arnie's ex-commando's daughter by a former colleague. Arnoe has to go and sort the bad guys out and rescue said daughter......and that's about it.

What is great about this movie is that its as if someone sat down in the eighties and decided to combine all of the action cliches and Arnie cliches of the time into on movie and then stick a loose story to it. Here we see Eighties Arnie doing what he did best, running up a huge body count, dropping one liners left right and centre and generally being indestructable....oh and let's not forget he's a reluctantt hero (well at least for the first couple minutes anyhow).

If you can learn to laugh at the eighties action genre then Commando is huge fun and in that respect I highly recommend sticking it in the DVD player one Sunday afternoon or as a late night flick with the boys after a few pints.
