Advantages: a interesting film but not as good as the first....
Disadvantages: none......
This movie is the sequel to "Conan the Barbarian" and, as with most sequels, isn't up to par with the first.
But still, it is a fun film to watch and has many exciting scenes. I prefer to watch it in conjunction with "Conan the Barbarian",
but it does stand on it's own as well.
This movie has a great cast besides Arnold. They are: Grace Jones, Wilt Chamberlain, Mako, Tracy Walter, Sarah Douglas and Olivia D'abo.
Andre` the Giant has a cameo role as the re-animated horned giant statue.
Grace Jones is a riot in this movie. I saw her on some shows promoting this film when it came out and she told stories of how she actually hurt people in her fighting. I guess no one explained "acting" to her, She put one guy in the hospital with a well-placed kick...ewww.
The plot is simple. The beautiful young Princess Jehnna (Olivia D'abo)is being held captive by an evil sorcerer.
The even more evil Queen Taramis (Sarah Douglas) calls for Conan to rescue the princess and return her to the castle
and in return she will bring Conan's dead love back to life. But before she can bring her back to life, he must find a magic horn first and place it in the head of a huge statue of a pagan god, Dagoth.
There is some excitement in this movie, but it doesn't compare to the first Conan movie.
I think this is why Arnold didn't make a third one.
I really would like to see him make one more Conan movie as the aging King who has a son who is now the mighty warrior,
but he goes on one last escapade where he and his son together save the day.
Sigh... But who in the world would play the role of his son? There's only one Arnold.
