Advantages: Isla fisher plays becky well

Disadvantages: not a patch on the book

i was terribly let down by this adaptation of Sophie Kinsella's novel of the same title. now i must point out i LOVE the books in the shopaholic series by Kinsella. so i was very excited when this film release was announced. i like Isla fisher and normally enjoy anything shes in. it wouldnt have been how i had pictured becky when reading but this didnt put me off. i read somewhere shortly after that this was an adaptation of several of her novels. I was less impressed. but still gave it a chance. The story in the book is one of Becky Bloomwood. she gets herself into serious debt through all her spending. i dont want to give much away because i would highly recommend reading the book. but the next book in the series is shopaholic abroad. as in the title, she goes abroad. they have already moved her to New york in the begining of the film. this was a shame because it was excellent when she discovered all the new amercian shops in the book. i am quite biased i guess because i had hoped it would be as brilliant as the book. as a film if you've never read the book then i guess it was probably pretty good. but f you have already read the book i wouldnt bother with this. its a massive let down in comaprison

Summary: very average
