Plot:
Based on the novels by Sophie Kinsella, Shopaholic Abroad, Shopholic Sister etc, this film puts them all together with Rebecca Bloomwood in the hotseat, and Luke her handsome boss in the male protagonist role.
If you have read the books, you will notice alot of similarities between the stories in the books, and the screen, but not so much that there's a specific storyline which is followed as it's based on a number of books.

Rebecca is a shopolic, but she denys it of course! She has 12 credit cards, a low income as a journalist, and a HUGE credit card bill. She loves clothes, she loves the feeling of buying new things, no matter what they are, she loves going shopping. It's her favourite hobby! Fashion is her dream, and when there is a job going at famous fashion magazine, Alette, she dashes off for the interview, stopping only to buy a gorgeous green scarf which she sees in a shop window on her way.

Upon getting to the interview, she finds the job already taken by the beautiful Alicia. When this happens, she ends up getting a job with a financial magazine, Rebecca of all people! While trying to stop herself from spending money, and with the Debt Collector Derek Smeath on her case at every turn, her best friends wedding coming up. The annoying long legged Alicia trying to stop her from getting her dream job (and man) at every turn, and a sexy boss Rebecca finds it impossible to use her own advice from her column as the Girl in the Green Scarf and chop up those credit cards.

Will Rebecca ever stop her spending habit, will she ever land her dream job? It doesn't look hopeful!

My Opinion:
I read a couple of the Shopaholic books, but I am talking a good few years ago now, and I don't remember any of the major storylines if I am honest, I just remember there was a main character called Rebecca Bloomwood, who liked shopping a little too much, after travelling to New York for a job she is in her element with the big shops like Bloomingdales at her fingers. In Confessions of a Shopaholic Rebecca Bloomwood is a New Yorker born and bred, living with her best friend and her best friends boyfriend working for a small time company.

Isla Fisher is amazing in the role of Rebecca, she really suits the part which she plays and plays a believable and likeable character. The storyline is excellent, it's very funny and sad in all the right places. If you have ever been in any way a shopaholic, this film will be something you will definitely relate to! While is also has a few messages in it, i.e. putting your friends and families feelings before work, and having willpower, telling the truth etc. I was really looking forward to watching the film, although it has been a long time since I read the books, it looked great on the trailers, and is even funnier than it looked on those in full!

If you like romantic comedies, you will love this film, it's very funny, and has some great actors! It's nice and easy to understand so it doesn't take much attention to watch it which is good when you want an easy watch!

10/10 for the film and acting! A definite must see for all shopaholics!!!

Summary: A wonderful film which you could watch again and again!
