Advantages: Not much good can be said
Disadvantages: Poor storyline, nothing like the book
Note this is a review of the film based on watching it at the cinema, therefore doesn't take account of any special features the DVD may contain.
Based on the book by Sophie Kinsella, this film follows a reporter played by Isla Fisher, who can no longer afford her lavish lifestyle, that is until a news story arrives that could change her life forever.
This is not a usually the sort of film I'd go & watch but I was dragged along to the cinema by a mate so I thought it would do no harm. But how wrong was I, I only wish I could reclaim the lost hours!
This film didn't have a strong storyline whatsoever and what it did have was extremely predictable. Even my mate who had read the book & enjoyed it was hugely disappointed. The film didn't represent the book at all, with huge changes to the storyline.
I don't mind alot of the so called chick flicks cause they can be funny & have good storylines, this definetly wasn't the case here. In fact I would go as far as saying that this was one of the worst films I have probabaly even seen so wouldn't recommend you to watch it, even if you enjoyed the book.
Summary: Don't waste your time

- 27/09/09 With the credit crunch, this could have been quite a relevant film about controlling our money...but it was just pants! |
