Advantages: Good clean family fun

This is one of those rare and fantastic films that can appeal to so many different age groups. A family favourite in my household growing up, this film will have you laughing out loud and quoting lines for weeks.
The film follows the exploits of three Jamacan sprinters (and the reigning pushcar champion and village idiot) who miss out on the olympic sprint squad and turn their attentions to the winter olympics. Cue a wonderful performance from John Candy as the coach who will let them fulfill their dreams.
Although made in 1993 the film has aged pretty well and can be found on DVD format from most sellars (amazon, play.com, hmv etc). Amazingly based (loosely) on a true story, this heartwarming film with a strong central message about respecting other cultures and looking after your friends will leave you smiling and wondering how it took you have never seen this in the 16 years since its release.
