... possibly erroneously feel that once the motive and pattern of the at large serial killer is pinpointed by Helen Hudson, the revelation is a little far-fetched, because it's my understanding that serial killers simply don't work like that....but, it regardless does make a refreshing change to have a slant put on a film of this nature that is different to the norm, even if it doesn't adhere verbatim to text-book accuracy. Helen Hudson (aside from the sniff!) is a moderately appealing character who has difficulty...more

Rating:

A series of killings are filling the local police department with horror, particularly as there seems to be no rhyme or reason behind them. Then a psychologist, Helen Hudson, spots the link - the killer is copying serial killers from the past. Detectives Monahan and Goetz need Hudson's help - the only problem is Helen is agoraphobic, refusing to leave her apartment following a run-in with another serial killer some years before. Can Helen help them follow the clues to the latest killer without leaving her apartment? And in any case, will they be quick enough to catch the killer before anyone else dies? Made back in 1995, this film for some reason didn't ...  Read the complete review

In 118 minutes you certainly get your money’s worth on the killing front. While the number of dead may not be as numerous as the number of times David Beckham has uttered the words ‘I don’t understand’, the quality of murders and the amount of suspense is more than gratifying. PLOT Sigourney Weaver plays a criminal psychologist, Helen Hudson, who gives lectures on serial killers, which is her speciality. One day she is attacked by a serial killer who she then helps to convict. After her ordeal she develops agoraphobia and does not leave her flat for 18 months and is forced to retire from work, until Holly Hunter as ...  Read the complete review

Copycat - High tension (344 words)
by - written on 02/05/10 (Very useful, 8 readings)
Rating:

If you love your detective crime/thriller movies then you will no doubt love Copycat as I did when I watched it for the first time a few years back now. The movie was released in 1995 and is intelligent and has the right amount of chills and twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Copycat is slightly different, where, as opposed to alot of these sorts of movies where the main characters are male in this the main characters are women. Sigourney Weaver plays a famous psychologist. She is an expert in serial killers and has been investigating this type of thing for years now. Unfortunately for her, after giving a lecture one day she herself is ...  Read the complete review
