Firstly we have Carlos Nunez (Jay Hernandez). Lives in East LA with his family. His father left when he was 5 years old. His brother like his father was a drop out, a no hoper with no future prospects. His family are as poor as many others in the neigbourhood he lives. Watched this movie last night expecting a good story that would make me laugh, and cry but generally give me a good feeling. Nope! None of that thank you very much! Overall, the story is OK, but the screenplay is pathetic! Basically the story is about Nicole Oakley & Carlos Nunes. Carlos being a hispanic boy and Nicole the daughter of a Representative (i.e. something like a local MP). The dialogue is crap, the movie is full of useless scenes of girls acting like idiots (drink driving is one of them) and hispanic boys being complete d*ck heads! I have to say I didn't enjoy this film as such, okay, so I enjoyed it slightly, but it wasn't really my thing! Also, believe it or not, I actually watched one of the special features, it happens to be the "4x Deleted Scenes" I don't know why we watched the deleted scenes, maybe I thought the film didn't quite add up, I don't really know, all I know is that I watched them and found them boring. This could be considered a coming-of-age story, dealing as it does with two teenagers trying to find themselves/their place in the world as adulthood approaches.
