A review of just the film. A DVD can be imported from America through amazon, although it's a little pricey and double-billed with a lousy version of Murders at the Rue Morgue. This is a horror film made in Britain in 1970 by American exploitation studio AIP. It seems they were trying to continue their series of Edgar Allen Poe films starring Vincent Price. Although I'm not aware of a Poe story called Cry of the Banshee, they slap a Poe quote at the beginning of the film, and Price is very much present and correct, along with Hilary Dwyer, his leading lady in two previous faux-Poe movies.
