Curious George is, make no mistake about it, minor fare in regard to both cinema in general and especially the animated genre, but as far as an adaptation of the children's stories by H.A. and Margret Rey, it is successful and effective, and a lot of fun for younger audiences. The film revolves around the cheeky, rather irresponsible, and irrepressibly funny monkey named George (voiced by Frank Welker), who is a great laugh for the other animals in the jungle, but of course their more responsible parents aren't so fond of him, and so cast him out, leaving him alone, and sad as a result. This Curious George DVD has an RRP of £5.99, which is pretty cheap as it is for a children's DVD. Amazon are selling it for £3.98 at present though, which is the price I recently paid for it. I think the first thing potential buyers should appreciate about this is that it's NOT a DVD containing episodes from the TV show. The characters are the same, but this is actually a full length film. I didn't read the description properly when I read this, I had no idea there even was a film available. I assumed I was buying a compilation DVD, which is what I was after as the Grandson is a big fan of the Curious George TV show. The film is almost an hour ... Read the complete review
