Picking up directly where Season 3 (or 2 as it originally were before the powers that be decided that the pilot run would be marketed as an entire season) left off, J.R. Ewing has been left for dead by a mysterious figure toting a gun in his all important office at family company Ewing Oil. This was the season that really got the ball rolling on this long running oil drama, and only returned to tv screens after a lengthy writers strike back at the turn of the 80s.
