If you haven't seen 'The Omen', don't read this review as I am about to give away the ending. What was subversive about 'The Omen' was that, unlike 'The Exorcist', it was about a genuinely evil child. Regan, the possessed girl in 'The Exorcist', is an innocent infected by something external. The chubby little kid in 'The Omen' is simply evil, wholly and irretrievably wicked. The final frame of that film, with Damien holding the hand of the First Lady at his father's funeral, tells you everything you need to know about how easy it is going to be for the Son of Satan to rise through the ranks of the American ... This sequel, filmed mainly in Chicago, was made in 1978, 2 years after the fantastic first film...(The Omen). **BRIEF PLOT** This second film, depicting the life of the Antichrist, now sees Damien, (played by Jonathon Scott-Taylor) at the age of 13 and living in America with his Uncle Richard, (played by William Holden), Richards wife Ann Thorn, (played by Lee Grant), together with his cousin Mark, ... The second of a rather desultory bunch of horror movies, enjoyable because it abandons the semi-serious tone of the first and third episodes in favour of violent horror melodrama, revelling in the camp carnage of a succession of violent deaths. Damien Thorn is a teenager, and still bringing death to anyone who gets close to discovering his secrets. From a chilling opening where a submerged mural is unearthed by a suitably doomed archaeologist, it's inevitable that lots of Christians will be thrown to the lions. A scientist who notices Damien's superhuman bodily makeup is bissected in a lift, a woman has her eyes pecked out by a raven before being felled ... Read the complete review

Damien: The Omen 2 is the follow on film to the hugely successful Omen film in which we met Damien, a young evil child who it appeared is in fact the son of Satan. In this film we see Damien (Jonathan Scott Taylor) now age 13 being raised by his uncle Richard Thorn (William Holden) and his uncle's second wife Ann (Lee Grant) following the mysterious death of his mother and father. Along with his uncle's son from his first marriage, Mark (Lucas Donat) he attends a military boarding school where Damien is enlightened as to his true nature by Sgt. Neff (Lance Hendricksen) who is helping him on his way to achieving world domination and when those standing in the ... Read the complete review

This is the first true horror movie that I'd ever seen and it scared the pants off me. I was only thirteen at the time and in the house on my own so that didn't help. The story is the second in the series of "The Omen" films and I think much better than the first. It finds Damon as a teenager and more evil than ever. There's no doubt that the Omen films tend to be forgotten as bigger, better horrors emerge but Damon - The Omen 2 has got to be in the realms of the classics. If you've never seen this film before try to get hold of a copy, watch the first Damon movie first though, it'll give you the background to the story. ... Read the complete review
