 ... hope he will not. I can see why 'Dark City' is a film that would split an audience. This is science fiction noir that is aimed towards the more hardcore sci fi audience. The narrative structure of the film does not begin to make much sense until half way, and then for many people even then they will never understand it. Chalk and cheese. To a short sighted person these two things could look pretty similar. Both are a pale white/yellow and both can come in the form of chunks. However, plop them into your mouth and the difference will soon become apparent. One leaves a nice powerdery after taste; the other reminds you of a Rancid Parson. Perhaps, like the mythical pregnant lady I like to indulge in a spot of chalk eating, who is going to stop me? The masses may praise the superior flavours of Edam; I however, will stick to my mineral best. Some films are compared to chalk and cheese; one was 'Dark City'.
