Advantages: Joey and Pacey are finally together!
Disadvantages: Dawson
Season 4 of Dawson's Creek aired in October 2000 and finished in May 2001. This season focus's on the characters we already know and love in their senior year of high school.
Pacey and Joey return from their summer sailing around on the 'True Love' and realise they must face some pressing questions from their friends but also the aftermath of what happened before they left. Pacey and Joey's relationship seems to cause problems for everyone around because Dawson will always seem to be such a big part of their lives.
Fortunately for Dawson, Gretchen, Pacey's sister returns home after taking a break from college. Dawson used to have a huge crush on her and wrote her letters all the time when he was a kid. The two of them end up becoming really good friends which leads into a relationship.
Jack, Jen and Andie seem to be very minor characters in this series as most of the story lines revolve around the never ending love triangle of Dawson, Joey and Pacey.
As the gang prepare to leave high school, they must all deal with the prospects of college and what they will do next. Pacey is unsure whether or not he will even graduate, Dawson finally gets accepted into film school in LA and Joey gets accepted into her dream school but money problems throw a stone in the works. Jack and Jen both want to go to the same school but when Jack suggests New York, Jen must deal with a past that she cant remember. Andie gets accepted to Harvard but ends up going and spending some time in Italy after taking Ectasy at a rave.
This season was my favourite out of all 6 and i have never cried so much at a TV show. I loved seeing the relationship between Joey and Pacey progress and even though they fought a lot, i really liked watching them make up. They really are the perfect couple, well for a while anyway. Pacey feels like Joey is holding him back and he isnt anywhere near good enough for her. The break up scene absolutely broke my heart and i cried pretty much through that whole episode. As much as i love Pacey, i really wanted to hit him at this point because he was so nasty but it was only to make sure Joey would let him go. For the rest of the season there are hopes that they would get back together but it just didnt happen.
Im glad Dawson found love with Gretchen this year even though it was short lived. He just annoys me when he gets all whiney and depressing because he cant have Joey. In the last episode we see Dawson and Joey share a kiss before he heads off for the summer and all it made me do was want to scream at them both.
I wonder what suprises are in store next year when they are all off doing their own things.
Summary: By far the saddest season yet
