Advantages: A Shockingly Well Made High School Film, Worthy Cult Classic, Continued Personal Relevance
Disadvantages: Lack of DVD Featues, Very American, Open-Ended Ending May Annoy Viewers
It was not my intent to write today. After work, I planned on relaxing while watching a movie. While watching that movie, inspiration hit me. It festered until it had to be released. The year is 1976. Following the loss that was the Vietnam War (not covered in the film), there was a lag, which became confusion in general and personal identity. Represented are conflicting thoughts scattered throughout the ensemble, which combined to symbolize society and its expectations with the relation of individual consciousness. The balance of the represented characters are American teenagers on their final day of their 2nd to last year of high school. - 04/05/03 A full comment would take up too much room here. :-) A superb review on a film I doubt I shall watch. Thanks for the personal bits as, although we are inundated with American High School movies, the AHS still remained somewhat of a mystery to me. |

- 03/05/03 I've never seen it either, but now I'm seriously tempted! Especially since it has "Tush" (one of my all-time faves) on the soundtrack ;)
