Advantages: Original, witty, gory and real. Completely unique of anything else.

Disadvantages: One or two 'poor' yet brief moments/performances stand out in an otherwise faultless creation.

Charlie Brooker seems to create something completely original with televised Zombie flick 'Dead Set'. Whilst commenting in part on Britain's social situation (we are all Zombie's watching television, specifically 'Big Brother'), 'Dead Set' also provides a true scare, filled with periods of dark humour. Leading lady Jaime Winstone leads a fine cast that summarise that essence of Big Brother, creating true to life characters that react believably to the given situation. 'Dead Set' leads the way as one of the first televised horror series' in years, in par with BBC's 'Being Human'.
Dead Set follows the development of the Zombie's of the new age, as seen in Danny Boyle's British epic horror '28 days later'. The special effects of Dead Set are presented fantastically, creating some truly horrifically gory moments as well as blood-pumping action in several gripping scenes.
An absolute hybrid and a must watch for all 'Big Brother' or '28 days later fans'.
