Deadliest Catch is a TV series orginally broadcast on the doscovery channel and later repeated on channel 5. I normally avoid the Discovery Channel as it can be a little dull for me. This however is far more exciting and invigorating than what they usually show. The series follows what is claimed to be one of the worlds riskiest jobs, and after watching the DVD you would not disagree. The series revolves around a large boat and the team which work on it. We discovered this series last year on dicovery channel. It is an absolutely amazing series. I got so hooked that we would record every episode and watch several on the trot. It is unbelievable how dangerous their job is. I moan about my job sometimes, but their bad days are incredible. I like the way they focus on only a few boats so that you really get to know the people. Our favourite Captains are Sig and Captain Phil. The amount of money that these people can earn seems to be phenomenal, $100000 for a few weeks work. However they dice with death every time they go out on a fishing trip. This was a Discovery Channel documentary that followed the lives of a few of the crab fishing vessels that fish in the Bering Sea, near Alaska.
