Deep Blue Sea (Deep Blue Sea (DVD))
Member Name: joe-91
Advantages: Samuel L Jackson Disadvantages: The script Deep blue sea is your average shark movie. A mix of scenes using suspense and action to piece together an entertaining 101 minutes. The story is original and simple; a group of sharks are genetically alterred to try and find a cure for alzheimers disease. This increases the shark's intelligence and puts the scientists at risk. Rated only a 15, don't expect too much gore but there are certainly elements that are not for the squeemish, one of which shows someone being bitten in half! The soundtrack doesn't stand out but there is some music used well to keep you in suspence. The acting is good but LL Cool J and Samuel L Jackson really stand out with their great performances. They make the most out of the pretty average script, although their talent seems held back by other factors. The computer effects used for some sharks and more gory scenes are ok and you tend not to notice when your concentrating on the film, but they are far from perfect. To conclude, this is a pretty good film but not one of the best. Even when only compared to other shark films, this one doesn't stand out to me. Samuel L Jackson is the best asset the film had and without him i wouldn't reccomend it. However, if you are looking for something to kill an hour then this isn't too bad. Summary: An OK movie. |
