Advantages: Cast, original directing

Disadvantages: Nothing special

Definitely Maybe is a little more original than your general Romantic Comedy in the story telling department giving a unique style to its plot. Rather than watching from the start, you are told the past through flash backs up to the present by Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds). The reason being that his daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin), wants to know his complicated past in relationships that lead to marrying her mother, who is now divorcing him.

The main plot starts during Bill Clinton's presidential campaign which Will has secured a job within. He meets three women during the duration of the movie which are all revealed at the start; Emily (Elizabeth Banks), Summer Hartley (Rachel Weisz) and April (Isla Fisher). The daughter tries to figure out who is her mother and the ending is ultimately unpredictable which I was pleased about.

Reynolds has a solid performance as you would expect. He's no Will Smith but he gets the job done convincingly. I thought Isla Fisher was great, which was expected really as she played a minor role in Wedding Crashers. Elizabeth Banks always performs well which is why she is in basically every comedy now! The cast overall was better than most rom-coms and I would recommend renting this one.

Good intro, but there's essentially one paragraph of criticism and the rest is a synopsis.
