Advantages: Really funny
Disadvantages: Cast isn't fantastic
Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo is a comedy film that was released in 1999. The film is rated 15 due to scenes of a sexual nature and some bad language and it is 85 minutes long. Deuce Bigalow only had a budget of $17 million but went on to make $93 million worldwide.
Plot
Deuce Bigalow is a professional fish tank cleaner and is quite a loser. He has no sex life apart from looking at the women in the local aquarium shop. He does know a lot about fish and gets some sympathy from his clients but Deuce wants more.
One of his clients, Antonio, asks Deuce to look after his house for three weeks while he is away on business. Antonio is a huge fish lover and has a very rare collection, which he is able to afford because he is a gigolo. Antonio only gives Deuce two rules: never answer the phone and don't use his sports equipment.
Deuce soon disobeys the rules and ruins Antonio's huge fish tank. He knows he has to get it fixed before he returns so he decides to answer the phone and become a gigolo himself but it isn't as easy as he thought. Deuce gets some help from T.J who becomes his man pimp and helps him out with some work but Deuce fails to be the average gigolo.

My Opinion
I'm a big Adam Sandler fan and grew to like Rob Schneider after seeing him in so many of Sandler's films. Although Schneider isn't as good an actor as Sandler, he is able to play comical, gross out roles pretty well. Most of his films are beyond silly but I can't help but love them.
None of the other cast members really stood out for me, apart from Eddie Griffin who played T.J. He isn't the greatest actor but he did provide the some fabulous comedy and some really amusing lines and was an asset to film. He was one of the only interesting characters for me.
The plot is extremely predictable and from quite early in, you will be able to tell how it ends up. This is very much your typical comedy film that doesn't try very hard to make the audience think, everything is about the laughs. The writers did add a small romantic story in there as well but it doesn't really bare any significance. I watched this again this evening and before that, I couldn't even remember how Deuce's romance went, apart from the obvious happy ending of course.
There is no way that this film could ever be taken seriously but it was a financial success so it could be said that this was a very popular film. It isn't one of my favourite films, because I do like to have something to think about but overall it was very entertaining.
Summary: A good comedy
