Advantages: Excellent Casting Of Charachters, Awesome Storyline!.

Having viewed not only this season but the second also i have to admit i am officially hooked on dexter.
The series follows the life of a forensic blood spatter analyst whom has a penchant for serial killing on the side.
It is filled with cracking one liners and morbid black humour that will have you laughing away as you are taken for a ride into dexters world, where as the series runs on the plot unfolds and you begin to understand more about his life and whats going on in his head, then wonder if you are a sicko for not hating this psychopathic serial killer.
The truth infact is that you just can't hate him regardless of the fact.
The lead charachter is played wonderfully by the excellent Michael C Hall (6 feet under) who portrays the loveable rogue brilliantly both in scene and narration.
This is not to say that the rest of the main cast which includes Jennifer Carpenter (the exorcism of emily rose), Julie Benz (buffy the vampire slayer), David Zayas (law and order), C.S Lee (chuck), Erik King (oz) and Lauren Velez (numb3rs) are belittled in comparison because this is far from the case and each actor / actress slips into their role convincingly and adds to the atmosphere of the show.
In my humble opinion i couldn't see anyone else playing any of the other charachters just as no one else could have filled the role of dexter, this only goes to show the excellent casting skills of the writers and crew.
In this case though the less said at this point the better as dexter is one of these shows that you learn whats happening as it continues and the plot is best left to be experienced firsthand while viewing.
All in all dexter is one hell of a show, i can't wait for the third season and if you are a fan of any of the cast or if you love black humour then this is definately one you'll want to watch!.

As for the extras on this box set i haven't gotten around to watching them and am not entirely sure what they are, it does however say there is a directors commentary, but again i cannot comment.

Summary: BLOOD - E - GOOD !!!
