This has been billed as America's favourite serial killer, although I think it picked up the tag line after the first season, once its popularity hard grown. I love my TV and especially the American shows are pretty stunning. Dexter is firmly up there with my favourites and although I have only seen the first season, I just know that the quality will be maintained, although this is partly due to my friends telling me the other seasons are awesome as well.

So the star of the show is Dexter as I am sure you guessed, played by Michael C Hall, who used to come in six feet under. Whenever I mentioned Dexter to someone who hasnt seen it, they instantly think I mean Dexter's lab, and then I spend the next thirty seconds explaining how Dexter is so much more.

Essentially this show is about the serial killer Dexter, who has an urge to kill, but uses this urge to kill people who he feels deserves to die. He leads a double life, one as the serial killer and the other working for a forensics team as a member that analyses blood splatter. He loves his job and often uses his clues from the job to help him in his killings. No one apart from his Dad, who trained him, knows what he is like and thats why I and the other viewers feel like we are on in his amazing secret.

You wouldnt think that Dexter would be very likeable but he is and this is called credited to Michael Hall. He has made this role his own and is very creepily amusing. Its such a dark humour but it works from the first episode and it is no suprise this show has a growing number of viewers. He has his enemies in the serial killing world and in fact people that are even better than himself. He loves to learn how to become better and has a strange respect for these other evil people.

I cant highly recommend this show enough and if you are looking for a new show to watch then check out Dexter. Its dark, its funny and hes the most awesome serial killer you will ever see.
