Advantages: The hype!
Disadvantages: Almost Everything!
Dhoom 2 has a bigger ensemble cast and a bigger budget than its prequel. Add to it the hype and hoopla of a couple of bikini scenes and you are heading towards a blockbuster! Once you finish watching it(if you DID survive the whole duration) you will be disgusted by its sheer stupidity!
The story is a fresh start and hardly has anything to do with Dhoom(Abhishek Bachchan and the very irritating Uday Chopra being the constant factors). They are chasing down a robber who has been making robberies of exquisite items all over the world. You will question the sheer dumbness of the script as it puts together some stupid hints to solve the location of the next robbery. This is a typical Police and Thief story, mixed with high dosage of bollywood masala. The characters are not charming, neither enigmatic which kills the show! Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu get on your nerves with their overacted performances and Uday Chopra's presence certainly doesn't help things. The only silver lining in this cloud is the presence of Hrithik Roshan, who is fantastic to say the least. Despite the fact that some of the makeovers doesn't look too different, he pulls off the part with some style.
There are certain twists in the tale which are predictable for the intelligent viewers. I would have loved if Sanjay Gadhvi(the director) had spent more time with the story rather than with the dress designers who try their best to provide a lot of skimpy clothes to the female leads. This looks more of a female anatomy class than an entertaining film.
Summary: Possibly the worst action suspense ever
