Advantages: Music, Swayze, everything!!

Ok anybody who does not like this film...well they must be mad!!! Lol...Dirty Dancing really has to be one of my all time favourite films!!!

Dirty Dancing was released in 1987, and directed by Emile Adronlino. The film stars Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in the starring rolls of Johnny and Baby (Francis).

The film is set on a Holiday Resort, Baby's family go there after her Doctor father (Jake Houseman) treats the owner, Max Kellerman, and pretty much saves his life. Baby is the apple in her fathers eye, does nothing wrong, is such a "good little girl". She is into World Peace and stopping famine in Africa. Her sister Lisa on the otherhand is into beauty and dancing and boys.

Whilst at Kellermans, Baby stumbles across the staff quarters, and across the heart of dirty dancing...the staff teach dancing to the holiday makers, but nothing like what Baby is seeing now. When she is introduced to Johnny, she falls head over heels, she has never met anybody like him, the way he moves and sways. She soon falls in love with him, but Neil Kellerman, Max's nephew has his sights set on Baby.

When there's a problem with Penny, Johnny's dancing partner, Baby must step into her place...learning to dance for the first time. And Johhny is the one teaching her.

The film has its ups and downs for the characters, and you will see a change in them, but there is not much more I can say on the plot without ruining the story for people who may not have seen it!!!!

Dirty Dancing is a legendary film which everyone has heard of, and most people have watched, its about young love and acceptance. About sterotyping the poor and putting the rich on a pedestal.

If you like films like Pretty Woman and Grease, you'll love this film. The music is amazing!!!

One bad thing is Jennifer Grey....she is NOT an actress...its so obvious she was pulled ito the film as she was a good dancer, but they didn't consider her acting skills which are well, kind of atrocious! Especially the part when in the dance hall of the staff quarters, she can be seen miming her words before she has to say them...as though she is reminding herself of what she has to say, I don't know if this was supposed to be there...or if she really was memorising her words before she has to say them!!!!!!

But this can be excused as the film is fab! :-) So grab yourself a glass of wine and settle yourself down for Dirty Dancing!!!

Summary: Another great Chick Flick which will last forever!
