Advantages: Great film
Disadvantages: Nothing
This is my favourite film of all time. Its a very well known and high quoted film.
The Plot
Set in the 1960's the Houseman family visited the Catskill Mountains holiday resort for the summer. Francis 'Baby' Houseman, the 17 year old daughter is taken to dance lessons by her father. She attends one of the dancers parties one night and notices how free and full of life these dancers are.
At this party Baby meets Johnny Castle the resorts dance instructor and she soon is taught many of his moves when he is short of a dance partner. This soon turns into the holiday romance that Baby was not expecting.
Baby Houseman is played by Jennifer Gray alongside Patrick Swayze who plays the dance instructor Johnny Castle
As stated at the start of this review I am a massive dirty dancing fan. Its a great film I can watch with the family, or when I feel like swooning over Patrick Swayze I can watch it alone or with my girlfriends. It is a vey feel-good film. Most people who have, and even in some cases have not seen the movie still know all the words to the songs. "Time of my life" is regually played at parties and night clubs at the end of the night and is a very well recognised song.
Even lines such as "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" are known by people who have not even seen the film.
With such a great cast and a wonderful script I would recommed you give this a watch, if so the first time, or even the 50th time. It never gets old.
Summary: I've had the time of my life
