Dirty Dnacing is a classic romance/drama film first released in 1987 and is still as popular now as it was back then. Starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray as the main leads and directed by Emile Ardolino. The film is 100 minutes long and is now a successful stage production too.

PLOT:
Whiter than white Baby (Jennifer Gray) takes her annual holiday with Mom, Dad and big sister to the Kellermans resort, their family friends. Baby is the apple of her daddys eye and can do no wrong. She is the picture of innocence. Whilst taking a stroll around the complex she comes across complex dancer Johnny Castle and immediately takes quite a shine to him.

Johnny and dancing partner Penny are the complex dance teachers as well as performers and Baby is mesmerised seeing them dance together. When Baby helps Johnnys brother carry supplies to an 'out of hours' dance party Johnny cohearses her into a bit of 'dirty dancing'. She picks it up pretty quickly and is soon smitten with Johnny

Later they discover Penny is pregnant by another complex worker Robbie and can no longer dance in the shows they have lined up due to her impending abortion. They all come up with the idea of training Baby in her place and this is the path that the story follows.

The story sees Johnny training Baby in his style of dancing whilst they also have to fight against the feelings they have for each other as well as keeping their secret from Babys father who they know would hit the roof. Eventually they are found out and have to part with Johnny being sacked from the complex after being framed for theft. Obviously the film doesnt end there and its not the last you see of Johnny but the pair have to overcome many hurdles during the film to be together and dance together.

The soundtrack from this film is just magical. Songs such as the classic 'Ive had the time of my life, shes like the wind, hungry eyes etc make this film a classic that I could watch over and over again.

The acting from all cast members is superb and the plot is truly great. A proper chick-flick and is worth watching just to see Patrick Swayze doing a bit of dirty dancing.

If you have never seen this film then I don't know what you've been doing for 20 years lol!! A must see classic film.
