Advantages: Brilliant see review
Disadvantages: none!!
Dirty Dancing is my total favourite film of all time, I also love Grease and Beaches too but they will have to wait.
Set in the summer of 1963 Baby (Jennifer Grey) finds herself on vaction in at the Kellermans holiday resort. It's there she meets Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze). Johnny is part of the entertainment staff and along with his dance partner Penny (Cynthia Rhodes) they perform the most fantastic dance routines for the guests at the Kellerman resort.
Baby get's a crush on Johnny after seeing him at one of the staff parties which she goes to with Johnny's cousin. It's here we hear the famous line "I carried a watermelon".
Johnny beckons Baby over to dance with him and it's here we learn just how bad a dancer Baby is!!!
After finding out about Penny's pregnancy by Robbie, who is now dating Baby's sister Lisa (and whoever else will have him), she gets her dad to give her money for Penny's illegal abortion..... Penny can't afford to lose her job and has a big dance coming up :o(.
Things go wrong and Baby run's to get her dad Dr Houseman to attend to Penny. This is where things go bad for Baby....... Her dad tells her she must no longer see these people but with Penny being ill she has stepped in and is having secret dance lessons so she can peform at the Sheldrake.
It is during these dance lessons that the passion between Baby and Johnny escalates.
Johnny then get's accused of stealing one of the guests wallets and looses his job, Baby knows he is innocent, she knows this as he was with her, this just makes things worse for Johnny as he is not meant to be dating guests, and although he is cleared of theft he still looses his job.
There is a sad moment where Baby and Johnny are by the car saying their goodbyes and in the background you can hear "She's like the wind" playing.... so apt for this moment :o)....................
But he returns for the final dance of the season (yayyyyy), he walks up to the Houseman family and says......... the most famous line...... "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" *ahhh drool* - Sorry!!
The stage is full of staff and a few guests singing in a line but Johnny puts on his record and he and Baby dance.... the most brilliant dance routine ever!! To the track "I've had the time of my life"! Baby gets over her fear and let's Johnny lift her into the air, over his head then they kiss and all the staff and guests dance! Dr Houseman appologises and it's all very happy and lovely!!

In my opinion this is definatly one of the best films of all time and there is no better way in remembering the sadly recently departed Patrick Swayze x
Summary: Just brilliant, if you haven't seen it yet.... where have you been??? lol
