A new companion. A new style. A new Era.

*****
Doctor Who started way back in 1963, with William Hartnell playing the Doctor! And his performance must have been so strong as we as a whole are still obsessed with this gripping programme, 44 years later!
Since then, we have met 10 Doctors, and adored every one of them! This Doctor (10th) is played by the lovely David Tennant, living up-to-date adventures in his big blue box, more commonly known as a TARDIS. But the Doctor does not travel alone! He had lost his recent companion, Rose, in a battle on Earth and was set to travel on his own, but after a mishap at Christmas, he finds himself bumping into somebody else. No plans for a permanent companion, but what do you predict?

DALEKS IN MANHATTAN/EVOLUTION OF THE DALEKS
The Doctor and Martha go back to New York in the 1930s where they join together with people from the Slums, and show girl Talullah, to escape pig men and make their way to the top of the Empire State Building. There, they have to save the human race and stop daleks and their leader, Sec, from becoming human daleks.

THE LAZARUS EXPERIMENT
Martha returns home, back on Earth, but she is not parted from the Doctor for long. It is up to them to save Martha's family and the rest of the human race from the evil Lazarus, a Professor with a monsterous side.

42
Martha and the Doctor land on a space ship, which is growing closer and closer to the sun. They have 42 minutes to make their way through many locked doors, fight off the possessed crew and turn the ship around! The race against the clock is on...

These fantastic episodes were written by Helen Raynor, Stephen Greenhorn and Chris Chibnall.

MY OPINIONS!
The cover of this DVD is quite unique, with the human Sec surrounded by the other Scaro children. It's not the best cover, but it does stand out.
With daleksinmanhattan/evolutionofthedaleks, I dont really know what to think! Well, I did think it was too early to bring back the daleks, and I still do. But at the same time, it emphasises how powerful the daleks are. Turning Sec into a human dalek ruined it in my opinion though.
I never really took to thelazarusexperiment. I think it is mainly because it involved a lot of Martha's family, and I dont like them as much as Rose's family. I think that's me being a bit stubborn though. The greenscreen acting in this episode is incredible though! And the TGI is spectacular! I cannot believe David did his own stunts!
42 is most likely one of my favourite series 3 episodes. Having Michelle Collins in it was great! Though, this episode reminded me too much of thesatanpit. Infact, there was very little difference! They have repeated things a lot in series 3, I think they are running out of ideas!

The soundtracks to these three episodes were superbly written by Murray Gold, and fantastically performed by BBC Wales Orchestra.

DAVID TENNANT
We have seen so much of Mr Tennant in Doctor Who, you'd expect he'd given all he has. But when I found out he was doing his own stunts for thelazarusexperiment, I was amazed! This guy just keeps going and going!

FREEMA AGYEMAN
By now, we have adapted out own opinions on both Martha and Freema. She has certainly changed my mind, and her acting skills are emence. I'm sure we have a lot more to see from Freema!

*****
This DVD will last approx. 181 minutes, and is certificated PG!

This is not the best Doctor Who DVD, but it's not one to miss out of your collection!

I thought these were the weakest episodes DT has done, although he is very nice to watch.

Dr Who just isn't the same these days for me, far too flashy and realistic - so dull!
