Advantages: Gripping, emotional, the best high quality drama

Disadvantages: None!

If you want to buy a Doctor Who DVD then you should buy this DVD without thinking about buying any others. The 3 episodes on this DVD are undoubtedly the best episodes of Series 3 which I think is the best series (despite it taking a while to get into).

This DVD features episodes 'Human Nature' and it's sequel 'Family of Blood' and 'Blink' which are all pretty experimental episodes playing with ideas not fulfilled before. Arguably the character of Doctor Who hardly features in all the episodes but this is one of the best things, because David Tennant is prominent in all episodes, though not necessarily as Doctor Who.

In the first episode Doctor Who has become a human because 'The Family' are after him and if he can be hidden as a human then The Family will die and he can go on saving the world! But the Doctor becomes a schoolteacher called John Smith who can remember nothing about the Doctor. Both 'Human Nature' and 'Family of Blood' are not solely episodes of a sci-fi series, they are a love story between John Smith and the nurse whilst Martha helplessly looks on, John Smith coming to terms with being the doctor, and episodes which highlight the horrors of war. They are gripping and strong episodes. At the end of 'Family of Blood' I cried, the only episode which has brought me to tears, and when I watched it for the second time I was brought to tears again, because these episodes are clever pieces of drama, drama at it's best.

'Blink' is a stunning episode intermittently featuring the Doctor and Martha. It stars the beautiful Carey Mulligan as Sally Sparrow who has ultimately has to return the TARDIS to the Doctor who has been trapped in 1969. However the 'Weeping Angels' are trying to stop her, these are statues who move whenever the characters blink or look away. This episode received the award of Best story in Doctor Who Magazine 2007 survey and is an episode that is gripping from start to finish. It's almost indescribable and simply should be watched by everyone!

Summary: Everyone should watch this DVD before they die!

Nonono! Blink is the best! It's crazy to think about but that's one of the best bits. Time isn't straight as the Doctor described!
