Finally a werewolf film worth watching! Written and directed by Neil Marshall this film takes you to the remote region of... well lets face it like any horror film the middle of nowhere.
On the eve of one of the biggest football matches ever - Germany Vs England in a World Cup qualifier, six British soldiers are stuck in the Scottish Highlands on a tactical training mission. Things suddenly go grim and change their initial battle plan when they stumble upon a half masticated Captain Ryan from a Special Forces unit - Whom luck would have it is the only survivor of his team.
The Soldiers now on high alert are left in the shadows about Ryans intentions and the secret behind his being there! Still with rumbling bellies these beasties have only just began - and soon make themselves known to the squadron...
Staring Sean Pertwee, Liam Cunningham and the increasingly more popular Kevin McKidd, this film brings together good old fashioned slasher style horror with a dry and witty comic outlook.
Overall this is one of better films I have seen in a while of its genre - but like the majority of Slasher flicks has almost enough downfalls. It has its parts of suspense and expected gore but manages to keep rather predictable. Worthy of watch and will have you laughing and possibly cowering like the first time you saw Jaws pop out the water!
On a plus though the ending could well keep you guessing...
Summary: Can you teach an old dog new tricks? Yes!
