Advantages: Good acting

Disadvantages: Confusing and inconsistent

Domino is a 2005 film from director Tony Scott (brother of Ridley). It features British fave Keira Knightley and Hollywood Bad Boy Mickey Rourke in a bounty hunter movie.

The Plot

Domino Harvey was born into money. The daughter of a socialite, she rebelled against the system and found solace in the company of a group of bounty hunters at a job seminar. Finding a passion for something is the one thing that has been missing from Domino's life, but now she finds something that not onbly is she good at, but she enkoys as well.

The Cast and Performances

Keira Knightley pouts - it is just something she does. But in this film, he pouts meanly! She looks and acts the part of a ruthless bounty hunter. Mickey Rourke is typically rough as the leader of the bounty hunter team Ed Moseby, and Edgar Ramirez provides some hispanic madness as Choco. The three combine very well, and the narrative from Knightley is good, too. The n ature of the film renders the acting a lot stranger than it actually is, with 'dreamy' sequences almost not fitting the hard nature of bounty hunting.

My Opinion

The good acting is somewhat spoilt by a strange way of filming. Tony Scott directs well, but the slightly distant nature of parts of the film is confusing at times, and the plot does not flow all the time.

It is a good film, but I was personally disappointed at what I saw. I expected much more from what is a good combination of acting.

Conclusion

Good film, but too confusing to get a higher rating.

I rate this film as 3 stars out of 5.

The DVD is available from amazon.co.uk for £5.98

You talk about the "strange way of filming". You should expand much more than that and tell us exactly what you mean, as this review isn't much help without you explaining these things.
