Crowned Review Donkey Punch (DVD): Yacht Horror That's Far From Ship Shape (616 words)
by - written on 26/12/08 (Very useful, 177 readings)
Rating:

Let's be honest, when the TV announcer warns us that the following contains violence, strong language and scenes of a sexual nature, how many of us start thinking, 'This sounds like a good one.' I know I do, so when my friend presented me with a DVD of Donkey Punch for the girls to watch together, the references on the back of the cover to explicit sex and gruesome violence were actually quite appealing. I like a nice gory horror and the blurb on the DVD cover, combined with a suitably horrific looking picture of a bloody propeller meant I was quite looking forward to ending an evening with Donkey Punch. Add to that an up and coming cast of British actors including ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sex and drugs and rock the boat (479 words)

Rating:

I caught this film the other night on Film4. I had heard a lot about it, how it was a hard hitting British film that wasn' for the faint hearted, and I suppose in a way this is right. However, aside from a couple of scenes, there's nothing major here to put you off. Essentially, it tells the tale of a group of girls who go on holiday after one of them is cheated on by her boyfriend. They hook up with some guys and take a yacht out onto the ocean, bathing and basking in the glorious sunshine. All young (late teens, early twenties) and with seemingly no cares in the world, the sexual tension fizzles as drugs and sex stories come into things, and before long ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Donkey Punch (DVD): Sun, Sea, Sand and Spatter (1185 words)

Rating:

A review of the film only, the DVD was released in region 2 in 2008. When Tammi discovers that her boyfriend has been cheating on her, her two best friends, Lisa and Kim decide that she needs a holiday and whisk her off to Marbella. As soon as they arrive, the three girls get glammed up and hit the town to party the night away. In the umpteenth bar they visit, they meet Marcus, Bluey and Josh, a trio of seamen currently berthed in the harbour whilst the wealthy owners of their yacht are away. The boys invite the girls back to the boat and, after introducing the girls to their fourth cabin mate and after some debate about what they should do they moor the craft ...  Read the complete review

Rating:

When three girls in their early 20's meet four good looking lads whilst on holiday in Mallorca nothing really seems out of the ordinary, they party together and get on well, so well infact that the lads invite the girls onto the boat which they are staying on for the duration of their holiday. Two of the girls concur however one is a little more reluctant, nevertheless the three girls end up on the boat where they all drink, do drugs and have a good time. Not long after arriving on the boat, the obvious next step arises where they all have sex, two of the girls and three of the guys are in the bedroom at the same time. The lad not doing anything is filming ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Donkey Punch (DVD): Murder onboard! (777 words)

Rating:

I went a few weeks ago now to Donkey Punch at the cinema. I actually found it to be quite a good film but due to its 18 rating and most of the showings being quite late I think a lot of people missed out on seeing this film which is a shame really as it was quite well done. The film is written by Oliver Blackburn and David Bloom and directed by Oliver Blackburn. The plot - The film starts off by showing us 3 girls getting ready to go out partying in sunny Marbella. We see them off having a good time laughing, drinking and generally living it up. Whilst out they bump into a group of three lads who later on invite them to come and party with ...  Read the complete review
