I f you have ever seen this movie, then you will realise that when I say "Forget about it" it is actually a huge compliment to the movie, or slating depending on the mafia context that you want to use for this movie.

Donnie Bracso is based on a true story about an undercover FBI agent, Donnie Brasco( Johnny Depp) who befriends a old mafia wiseguy called Lefty(Al pacino)and starts working his way into Lefty's crime family.

As the movie progress' Donnie starts becoming more influential within the mafia business and starts working his way up the ranks, much to the disppleasure of his law enforcing bosses, who think that he is becoming to involved.

The movie gives a very good insight about the gangster lifestyle, with excellent parts of the movie explaining all the mafia talk, such as "Forget about it" and "Friend of mine".

This is one of the better mafia movies because not only does it have the obligatory crime and violence, but also touches upon the relationship of why Lefty takes Donnie in and looks after him, due to the fact that Left's own son is a drug addict and doesnt respect his father, so Lefty almost adopts Donnie as a substitute son to follow in his footsteps. A lot of the film is based on the fact that Lefty feels upset that he is always overlooked when it comes for "promotion within the crime scene" and see's Donnie progressing rapidly.

Both Al Pacino and Jonny Depp are excellent. Sadly I think the ending is rather tame and just kind of fizzles out.

The DVD:
The region 2 version I own is rated 18, but to be fair they are not many scenes that would warrent that rating, the language is very frequently strong, anmd there are few scences with large amounts of blood. There are very few extras on the disk, there is the making of, and a trailer.
